Old Clinch Crafters is a small, family-owned sewing business at The Oxbow Center, 16620 E. Riverside Drive, St. Paul, Virginia 24283. This page explains what information we collect through oldclinchcrafters.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have. What we collect

When you send an order request: your name, email address, mobile number, city and state, and anything you tell us about your order. That can include notes, dates, photos of a quilt you want repaired, and your choices about photos and texting.

When you sign up for emails: your email address, and your name if you give it.

When you pay: PayPal handles online payments, and we never see or store your card or bank numbers. If you pay by check or cash, we keep a record of the payment for our books.

When you visit the site: like most websites, our web host and WordPress automatically record basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visited. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

We don’t ask for your Social Security number, your birthday, or any payment card numbers on this website.

How we use it

• To answer your request, send your price, and make your piece
• To let you know when your clothes arrive and when your order is ready
• To arrange pickup, delivery, or shipping
• To send occasional emails, but only if you signed up for them
• To keep business and tax records

Text messages

We only text you if you check the box that says it’s okay. Those texts are about your order: your price, when your clothes arrive, and when your piece is ready. Message and data rates from your phone carrier may apply. Reply STOP anytime and we’ll stop texting you.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Emails

Our email list runs through Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and you can use it anytime.

Photos of your finished piece

We only share photos of your finished piece, on our website or Facebook, if you give us permission on the order form. If you ask us to wait until a certain date, we wait. We don’t post your name or personal details with a photo unless you tell us we can. If you change your mind, tell us and we’ll take the photo down.

Who we share information with

We don’t sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We only share what’s needed to get your order done, with services that help us run the business:

• Our website host and WordPress plugins, which store the website and the order form
• Kit, for our email list
• PayPal, if you pay online
• The U.S. Postal Service or another shipping carrier, if we ship to you
• Google Fonts, which loads the lettering on our site and can see your IP address when it does
• Jetpack Stats, from Automattic (the company behind WordPress.com), which counts visits to our site. It sees your IP address, your browser, the pages you view, and the site that sent you here
• Our bookkeeper and tax preparer, for business records

We may also share information if the law requires it.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Our site uses only a few, for basic things like keeping forms working and remembering site settings. If you log in to WordPress or leave a comment, WordPress saves cookies that remember you.

We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t track you on other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some forms may need you to re-enter information.

“Do Not Track” signals

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. We don’t track visitors across other websites, so we don’t change anything when we receive one.

How long we keep information

We keep order information for as long as we need it for your order and for our business and tax records, usually up to seven years. We keep email list information until you unsubscribe.

Keeping it safe

Our site uses a secure (https) connection, and we limit who can see your information to the people who help with your order. No website is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Children

This website is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If a child’s information has been sent to us, let us know and we’ll delete it.

Your choices
