Our Story
Old Clinch Crafters was born from a deep desire to help people preserve their most cherished memories through handmade quilted keepsakes. Whether it’s a memory quilt, keepsake bear, or pillow; our mission is to create meaningful items that hold a special place in your heart for years to come.
Located in Castlewood, VA, Old Clinch Crafters is a Christian family-owned and operated business.
Shannon (Mom) has been sewing for many years, creating beautiful home décor and thoughtful gifts. She also enjoys homemaking and crafting stained glass. Her love for glassmaking naturally transitioned into quilting, especially during the colder months when she could no longer work in her glass shop.
Abigail (Daughter) grew up surrounded by sewing and quilting, learning the craft from her mother. Over time, she developed her own passion for creating memory quilts and keepsakes.
Abigail shares, “I began sewing at a young age, helping my mother create items for our family and friends. This sparked my interest in sewing, starting with small projects like napkins, then progressing to clothes and much more.
My passion for quilt-making grew when a family friend gifted me some pre-made quilt squares. I finished the quilt, entered it into the county fair, and won a blue ribbon! Since then, I’ve made several quilts for those who have lost loved ones, creating pieces that help them cherish memories and begin the healing process.
This business idea became a reality for me just this past year. With the support of my wonderful parents, I’ve now opened a business dedicated to handmade memory keepsakes and handmade sewn items.
Creating a quilt takes time, but the end result is always worth the wait. I truly enjoy every part of the process and hope you’ll allow me the privilege of making a memory quilt for you—one that your family will cherish and use for many years to come.”
Richard (Dad) brings his own special contribution to the family business. With nearly 28 years of experience as a funeral director, Richard has always had a heart for serving grieving families during their toughest moments. His role in providing comfort and support to those in need has greatly influenced the way we approach our work at Old Clinch Crafters. Richard’s deep understanding of the healing process has made him a guiding force behind the creation of keepsakes that help people honor their loved ones and preserve precious memories. His unwavering faith in Christ and dedication to service shape everything we do.
Together, we combine our love for sewing with a deep commitment to helping others preserve their stories. Every piece we create is crafted with care, attention to detail, and the intention to provide comfort and warmth through the memories we help preserve.
At Old Clinch Crafters, we are honored to be part of your journey, turning memories into treasured keepsakes that will be loved for generations.
