The Process

Now that you have sent everything to us, you can relax and wait for the exciting pictures of your quilt, pillow, or bear.

Here’s what you can expect from me after your quilt order is placed:

1. Confirmation Email: I’ll send a quick note the day I receive your package so you know it’s safely with me.
2. Initial Layout Email: I’ll share a digital photo of the first layout, showing how your shirts will be positioned on the quilt. This is your chance to make any changes if needed! And I encourage you to make any changes now.
3. Second Layout Email: At this stage, I’ll send a picture with all the shirts cut into blocks. Again, feel free to make adjustments if necessary. You can also choose the color of sashing if applicable.
4. Final Layout Approval: Once you’re happy with everything, I’ll send the “final layout” and get started on sewing your quilt top.
5. Finished Quilt Top Email: When the top quilt is complete, I’ll share a picture with you. We’ll discuss and choose the backing fabric at this point.
6. Quilted Quilt Email: After the quilt is quilted using a longarm machine, I’ll send you a photo of the finished quilt. At this point, your final payment will be due.
7. Final Quilt Email: Once your quilt is fully finished, including the binding, I’ll send you a picture of the completed piece.
8. Shipping Email: Finally, I’ll send you the USPS tracking number so you can follow your Memory Quilt on its journey to you!

I’ll be sending lots of emails or texts with plenty of photos so you’ll always know what’s happening. I truly encourage you to get involved in the design and make sure the quilt is just how you want it! If you’re having the item made for someone close to you and it’s a surprise, please send a note with your box and let me know if you don’t want calls, texts, or emails.

If you’d prefer to chat on the phone, I’m happy to do that as well. There are no surprises in this process—just lots of opportunities to collaborate!
